🚒 Marysville Touch-A-Truck + National Night Out

This is always a fun one for families!
Marysville’s annual Touch-A-Truck celebrates its 30th year in 2026, giving kids the chance to get up close to the big vehicles they see around town.
Families can explore dump trucks, fire engines, police vehicles, street sweepers, garbage trucks, aid cars, and other heavy-duty equipment. Free train rides are also planned.
This year’s event also includes Marysville’s rescheduled National Night Out festivities.
For children who love trucks but don’t like all the noise, a sensory-friendly no-horn period runs from noon to 1:00 PM.
The City of Marysville also encourages attendees to bring a canned food donation for the Marysville Community Food Bank.
No registration is required.
Local mom/grandma tip: If you have a little one who’s sensitive to loud noises, I’d plan to arrive closer to noon for the no-horn hour.
🚜 Stanwood Touch A Truck

Apparently September 12 is THE day for big trucks in North Snohomish County. 😂
Stanwood is hosting its own Touch A Truck, where families can explore big rigs, construction equipment, emergency vehicles, and more.
Parking is available in the upper high school lot, while the event itself takes place in the lower lot near SR 532.
Stanwood’s quiet/no-horn hour is from 10:00–11:00 AM.

Spend Saturday morning shopping local at the Arlington Farmers Market.

And because Arlington’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration begins later in the afternoon, you could easily turn this into a full day downtown.

🚘 K9 Foundation Car Show — Arlington

Car lovers have another reason to head toward Arlington on September 12.
The City of Arlington lists the K9 Foundation Car Show as one of its September community events, with the show open to the public from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

🌮 Hispanic Heritage Celebration — Arlington

Head to Downtown Arlington for an afternoon and evening celebrating Hispanic culture and community.
The event includes food trucks, vendors, entertainment, live music and dancing.
There will also be Lotería, a traditional Mexican game similar to bingo. It’s free to play, open to all ages and includes prizes from local businesses.
From 6:00–7:30 PM, Moon Fleur — Soul of Santana is scheduled to perform.
Between the farmers market earlier in the day and this celebration in the afternoon, September 12 would be a great day to spend some time in Downtown Arlington, Washington.

🍎 Final Granite Falls Farmers Market of the Season

If you’ve been meaning to visit the Granite Falls Farmers Market, this is your last chance for the regular 2026 season.
September 13 is the final Sunday market of the season.
This could also be a fun excuse for a Sunday drive. Visit the market, grab something local to eat and then spend some time exploring Granite Falls.
If you haven’t driven farther out toward the Mountain Loop Highway, you’re also heading into one of my favorite parts of Snohomish County.

The event is limited to Lake Stevens residents, so check the city’s current guidelines for acceptable items and any proof-of-residency requirements before loading up the car.

This one immediately caught my attention because Snohomish County has so many horse properties and small acreage homes.
The Snohomish Conservation District is hosting a tour of a Stanwood-area horse property focused on mud management, drainage, manure management, and horse-friendly paddocks.
Attendees can see real-life solutions designed to help horse properties function better through the Pacific Northwest’s very wet winters.

Why I Love Living in North Snohomish County
One of my favorite things about living and working in North Snohomish County is that our communities still feel like communities.
You can spend Saturday morning at a farmers market in Arlington, take the kids to Touch-A-Truck in Marysville or Stanwood, head toward Granite Falls for a Sunday drive, stop at the library in Lake Stevens, or find yourself at a small community event you didn’t even know existed.
And honestly, those are often my favorite kinds of days.
Not everything has to be a huge attraction or require driving into Seattle.
Sometimes it’s the farmers market, the local trail, the little coffee shop, a community festival, or an afternoon spent exploring a neighboring town that reminds you why this is such a special place to live.
Marysville, Lake Stevens, Arlington, Granite Falls, and Stanwood each have their own personality, but together they make North Snohomish County a pretty wonderful place to call home.
